Vintage PY Japan Anthropomorphic Ballerina Cat Salt and Pepper Shakers Set
Step back into the whimsical world of mid-century design with this rare, authentic 1950s ceramic salt and pepper shaker set by the highly collectible PY (Miyao) pottery company of Japan. This charming duo features two anthropomorphic kitten dancers in playful ballet poses.
Beautifully painted with long dreamy eyelashes, rosy cheeks, and vibrant flowers tucked behind their ears, the kittens wear contrasting pastel tutus — one in soft pink, the other in sky blue — with floral accents at their bases. Both pieces bear the original red "Made in Japan" sticker and mold number 441. Each shaker stands approximately 4 inches tall.
Excellent vintage condition; minor gentle crazing consistent with age.
