Antique Bavarian Porcelain Art Nouveau Grape Stein Hand-Painted Artist Signed CER c. 1905
A magnificent antique porcelain stein from the Edwardian/Arts & Crafts period, circa 1900–1915. Hand-painted with lush purple grapes and sweeping gold vines against a deep, moody dark-washed background. The bold gold gilt covers the handle, interior rim, and base trim beautifully.
Authentically hand-initialed "CER" within the design near the handle — a true studio piece, not factory work. The design mirrors the iconic "Lustre Grapes" motif by Sara Wood, widely published in Keramic Studio magazine in the early 1900s. Marked "BAVARIA." on the base, indicating a premium German hard-paste porcelain blank decorated by an American studio artist.
Measures 7 inches tall by 3⅞ inches across the bottom. Excellent antique condition — no chips, cracks, or hairlines. Grape motifs are crisp and vibrant. Light age-appropriate wear to the gilt on the handle and rim as expected for a piece over 110 years old.
