Antique T&V Limoges Tomato Serving Platter, Artist Signed Butler, c. 1892–1907
A truly exceptional piece of late Victorian porcelain artistry. This 12-inch antique French porcelain serving platter was manufactured by the prestigious Tressemanes & Vogt (T&V) factory in Limoges, France, between 1892 and 1907.
The hand-painted tomato vine motif is vivid and unusual, framed by a heavily gilded gold-leaf rim. Decorated and fired in an American art studio during the golden age of china painting, it is signed Butler in gold on the reverse — a professional hand that adds real collector value.
Excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or restoration. The gilt rim shows only the minor, natural wear you’d expect from a century of careful keeping. The central painting is pristine. Measures 12 inches in diameter. Green underglaze T&V Limoges France factory mark on the reverse.
